Imposter Alert! The Alabama Board of Nursing
received information that the following individuals have represented themselves as having
a nursing license in The information on this web site will be
updated as needed. Each licensed nurse is required
to have a license wallet card available for employer, or potential employer, inspection. OLIVIA MUSE HOLLON of Athens, Alabama, has applied for registered nurse positions in the North Alabama region. Ms. Hollon represented that she had an RN license in Texas. A search of the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners’ web site using her contact information did not return any records of licensure in Texas. MS. HOLLON IS NOT NOW NOR HAS SHE EVER BEEN LICENSED IN ALABAMA. ASHLEY WENN ROSENBERGER of Rainbow City, Alabama continues to represent herself as a licensed nurse in Alabama. Ms. Rosenberger was sent a CEASE AND DESIST letter on June 21, 2004, May 4, 2005, and September 1, 2005 SHE IS NOT NOW NOR HAS SHE EVER
BEEN LICENSED AS A NURSE IN ALABAMA. ELIZABETH PHILLIPS of Huntsville, Alabama applied for a licensed practical nurse (LPN) position in the Huntsville area. Elizabeth Phillips represented that she was licensed in Alabama in 2003. A Cease and Desist letter was sent to Ms. Phillips advising her to stop representing herself as a licensed nurse. ELIZABETH PHILLIPS IS NOT NOW NOR HAS SHE EVER BEEN LICENSED AS A LPN IN ALABAMA. CHRISTY LaJEANNE COWHERD was previously licensed as a registered nurse in Alabama. Her license was suspended in September 2005 and revoked in September 2006. She continued to represent herself as a licensed nurse and worked at various agencies in the Jefferson-St. Clair county areas.
SHE IS PRESENTLY REVOKED AND SHOULD NOT
BE EMPLOYED AS A LICENSED NURSE. ANDREA DAVIS of Saraland, Alabama, has applied for an LPN position in the South Alabama area. Ms. Davis represents that she graduated from Bishop State Community College in 1995 and has practiced nursing previously. Ms. Davis was sent a Cease and Desist letter on March 26, 2007.

SHE EVER BEEN LICENSED AS A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSING IN THE STATE
OF ALABAMA.
THALA LAKIYA GRIFFIN, a resident of North Alabama, applied for licensure with the Alabama Board of Nursing. Ms. Griffin represented she graduated from a licensed practical nursing program. However, the program is an online school that gives credit for “life experiences” and sells diplomas, transcripts, and grades.

NOT ELIGIBLE FOR LICENSURE OR TO PRACTICE NURSING IN ALABAMA. SUSIE NEIGHBORS SMITH AKA WANDA SUE NEIGHBORS, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, sought employment and misrepresented that she is a Licensed Practical Nurse. Ms. Smith/Neighbors also misrepresented that she graduated from Troy University in Montgomery with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. A BSN would make her eligible for the RN exam but not the LPN exam. A cease and desist letter was sent to Ms. Smith/Neighbors on September 25, 2007.
SUSIE NEIGHBORS SMITH AKA WANDA SUE NEIGHBORS IS NOT NOW NOR
HAS SHE EVER BEEN LICENSED BY THE ALABAMA BOARD OF NURSING. LANA CHERIE CHEEKS ALLUMS was mailed a Cease and Desist Letter on May 7, 2008. Ms. Allums allegedly is representing herself as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Tuscaloosa area. Ms. Allums is not now nor has she ever been an LPN in Alabama.

MICHELLE WELLS has applied for jobs in the Rainsville/Fort
Payne areas representing that she is a Licensed Practical
Nurse. Ms. Wells is not now nor has she ever been an LPN in
Alabama. Ms. Wells was mailed a Cease and Desist Letter on
November 3, 2004. KETTY DEFFORGES applied to the Minnesota Board of Nursing for an RN license and falsely represented that she is licensed in Alabama. The documents submitted to support her application did not originate with the Alabama Board of Nursing. Ms. Defforges, allegedly a Connecticut resident, was ordered to CEASE AND DESIST representing herself as an Alabama licensee on February 2, 2009. KATHERINE E. KEY JACKSON of Douglasville, Georgia has not now nor has she ever been licensed as a practical nurse in Alabama. LEILA JAY HEPTINSTALL of Vincent, Alabama, provided fraudulent license cards to her employer in Shelby County, Alabama. Heptinstall presented a registered nurse license using another nurse's license number. Heptinstall is not now nor has she ever been licensed as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse in Alabama. A CEASE AND DESIST letter was sent to Heptinstall December 4, 2009 along with a report to the Shelby County District Attorney. |
